If you’re old enough to remember the ‘90s, then you’re old enough to remember Clairol’s Herbal Essences’ famous “Yes! Yes! Yes!” commercials. It was one of the most popular brands and just about every woman wanted the same “Yes!” moment. Not only that, but also the incredible hair results and compliments!

There’s no need to worry if you have seen their commercials this week, you’re not going back in time, although that would be pretty awesome. You are hearing “Yes! Yes! Yes!” again because the original ‘90s bottles are back with two of the fan favorite collections: Shine and Smooth. The first new commercial starring Nicole Scherzinger aired during the Grammy Awards this past weekend.

Procter & Gamble bought Clairol back in 2001, and in 2006, redesigned the bottles from straight to curvy and the colors from pastel to neon. They have noticed a drop in sales in the past few years and hope bringing back the original ‘90s bottles will win back their missing loyal fans.
The marigold-colored Shine collection includes a combination of chamomile, aloe vera, and passion flower botanical extracts. The pink Smooth collection includes a combination of rose hips, vitamin E, and jojoba extracts. The formulas have changed, but the scent remains the same. The shampoo has changed to silicone-free and the conditioner to sulfate-free.
This is a great marketing move for Procter & Gamble. With Herbal Essences’ modern twist for this relaunch, customers can wax nostalgic about the good times in the ‘90s.
