While it may seem like Facebook just rolled out a new layout, the company’s doing it again! However, Facebook’s latest design is going in a completely different direction. The cleaner layout was inspired by the company’s mobile application.
The new design will come with several new features as well as some dramatic changes in how your news feed and timeline will look! Some of the more exciting changes that were unveiled include:
Larger Photos
Currently, photos make up 50% of news feed stories. Facebook’s new design will definitely include more of a visual focus. The width of pictures displayed in the news feed will be growing by almost 200 pixels, and cover photos will also be increasing in size.
Streamlining
The new Facebook design will be more consistent with its mobile apps. Facebook users will notice a new navigation bar on the left side of their news feed, less clutter, and more white space. Facebook is looking to streamline its users’ experience, regardless of what platform they are accessing the social media site.
Larger Ads
The advertisements on Facebook will also be changing in size. The copy within the ad will have a larger, more spaced out, and differently-styled font. Many believe the new layout is “easier on the eyes” and does a better job matching with the rest of the news feed’s design.
