Facebook is the perfect place to run a giveaway for your business. It allows you to reach many customers (and possibly their friends) at once! When you create a giveaway, you want to make sure you are reaching your full potential and following all the rules. Here are some tips and tricks that can help you create a successful campaign!
Create an End Goal:
Before you decide what you want to give away, think about what you want to achieve. Setting a goal for your giveaway will help you decide what type of giveaway is best. Some possible end goals could be gaining more page likes, increasing views of the page, attaining more clicks on your page, or gaining more traffic to your website. Your goal should be measurable and attainable; you need to be able to tell if your giveaway was a success or not. By setting the goal first, you will have a strong base vision of your campaign.
Make a Good Giveaway:
Make sure you are giving away something people will want. Think about your specific target market for your company. You want to give something away that appeals to that group of people because they are the ones who already like your page. Think of items or coupons that would most benefit the customer, something they would want to go out of their way to get. You have to catch their attention in order for them to interact with your post and make it successful.
Specify Your Rules and Guidelines:
Create a set of rules, guidelines, and a timeline for your giveaway. Make sure your audience knows all the rules they have to follow to be entered, when the contest ends and when the winner will be chosen. Each of these things customers will be wondering anyways, so it is important to explain them up front. You should include the list of rules you make in your initial giveaway post and each follow-up post you make as well. By specifically defining each of the requirements, you can avoid any bumps in the road.
Encourage Engagement:
Encourage people to tag their friends, share your post, and like your post. The more people that interact with your post, the more people it will reach. On average, the number of people that see your post goes up by 6.1% when you have likes and comments on it. By asking customers to comment, like, and share, you are increasing your number of views.

Facebook has guidelines on giveaways. One big rule is making sure you include acknowledgement that the promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook.
