BPM Intern Spotlight: Amelia Holtz

Join us in giving a warm welcome to our new summer intern, Amelia Holtz! Amelia is studying Marketing and Digital Media at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and will graduate in the spring of 2026. We’re excited to support her passions for design and social media with real-world agency experience. Read on to learn more about our newest addition, including her unique companion!

Where did you grow up? What’s the most interesting thing about your hometown?

I grew up in Neenah, Wisconsin. My favorite thing about Neenah is that it has a lot of walking trails all around the city where I can go on bike rides or walks with my family.

Why did you choose to pursue a major in marketing and minor in digital media studies and design?

I chose to pursue a major in marketing because I’ve always been a creative person with a strong interest in art. Marketing felt like the perfect blend of creativity and strategy while still giving me the opportunity to express ideas and work with consumer trends. As marketing is a broad major, I appreciate the flexibility and variety of roles that I can explore. Pairing this with my digital media studies and design minor made sense as it helps me develop hands-on design and media skills — allowing me to combine business and art.

What interests or excites you the most about marketing?

The design aspect is what excites me the most about marketing. After completing my first art class at the college level that focuses on digital art, I am excited to continue doing this in a professional setting. I also like the idea of connecting with consumers and understanding their decision-making process.

Why did you choose to intern at BPM?

I chose to intern at BPM because it’s a full-service marketing company that will allow me to explore a variety of roles and gain well-rounded, hands-on experience.

What skills are you hoping to master by the end of your internship?

I am hoping to master my communication and writing skills. These are areas I have been continuously learning over the years, and I believe this internship will provide me with the opportunity to perfect them.

What is your current dream job?

My current dream job is to become a Digital and Social Media Coordinator where I can help companies build their brand and connect with their audience.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work or school? What are your favorite hobbies?

I really enjoy being outside and going on walks or hikes. While going to school in La Crosse, one of my favorite hobbies is hiking up on the bluffs. Recently, I have also enjoyed playing pickleball with my friends.

Coffee, tea, or energy drinks – what powers your workday?

Coffee is what powers me through my workday.

What’s the one phone app you can’t live without — why?

Currently, the one phone app I would not be able to live without is Spotify, since I have so many playlists, and I listen to music daily.

What is something interesting most people don’t know about you?

Something interesting about me is that I have a pet pig at home. I often forget that having one isn’t exactly common, so I don’t usually think to mention it to people who haven’t been to my house.

What topic could you give an hour-long presentation on with little to no preparation?

I really love animals. So, I feel I could give a full presentation on something animal-related if I didn’t have a lot of preparation.

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

My go-to karaoke song would be Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?

My mom has always given me the best advice, but something that has stuck with me has been when she tells me to never give up, even when you’re feeling brought down, and that life’s challenges are opportunities to grow stronger.
