Social media is constantly evolving. This means that your business needs to keep up in order to stay in tune with your customers. Here are a few of the latest social media updates:
First, let’s talk Facebook. Facebook is adding seven Call-to-Action buttons that will be available to business pages. Restaurant businesses already have a menu button that displays the establishment’s menu items, and now Contact Us, Book Now, Use App, Play Game, Shop Now, Sign Up, and Watch Video buttons are being rolled out. These buttons encourage interaction from customers and leads them to your company’s website and services.
Twitter now has a tweet index–which means you can now search through every public tweet since the social network’s launch in 2006. You can now go back and see the tweets you’ve written in the past and what has been tweeted about your business. This feature can help you better monitor information that is being tweeted about your company and give you clues on how to adjust your public relations strategy.
Your favorite board on Pinterest is now just a tap away. Pinterest recently updated its mobile app to allow users to Pin It with a Pin It button right from a mobile browser. For business marketers, this means that you no longer have to wait to be on your computer to update your Pinterest board; you can conveniently pin that update right from your phone, wherever you are.
You can now edit your Instagram updates. After much request, Instagram now allows you to edit captions on your posted photos. At the end of the day, we are human and make mistakes in the fast-paced world of social media. This means that the inevitable typos, if caught, are less likely to harm your brand’s image.
“How To” on YouTube: Every business dreams of one of their videos going viral. While the chance of going viral is not impossible, it is, unfortunately, very slim. Recently YouTube has found that useful, creative “how-to” videos get the most consistent views. These types of videos also rank higher in the video search results of Google. Therefore, as a business, you should invest in video content that provides interactive instruction focused on a topic related to your expertise (rather than giving an overloaded sales pitch). While informational content is good for overall awareness, “how to” content takes you one step further.
Through utilization of the newest social media updates, your business will stay connected and relevant to those who matter most–your customers!
