As a Marketing Intern at BPM I had many responsibilities and worked in several areas of the business. I learned how to structure text message campaigns, wrote for and communicated with many different audiences, compiled market research, and learned how to formally write a story pitch and blog posts. There was definitely a learning curve, but with the help of my UW-Green Bay education, I had no trouble completing the challenging tasks I was assigned.
Throughout my internship experience, I also learned many things about myself and the future career I plan to pursue. Working for BPM I was able to see all the different aspects of marketing. With that said, some tasks were more challenging than others. First off, I ran into a few obstacles while I was developing copy for marketing campaigns. I enjoyed being able to infuse my creativity, but it was challenging. I discovered I actually have more interest in market research and now understand I am more adept at math and logical pursuits.
Down the road, I will pursue a Masters Degree in Statistics in Market Research and Advertising. My future goals consist of excelling in market research and working for an advertising agency outside of Wisconsin. However, as of right now, I will be moving to Milwaukee to continue my marketing career with a sales and marketing firm. I will definitely use the skills I have learned here at BPM and apply them toward my next chapter in life.
